To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of a Japanese music label Lantis, "Lantis Matsuri" was held at Makuhari Messe for three days from June 21st until the 23rd. It showcased over 70 musical performers and recorded around 50,000 audiences in three days. JAM Lab. reports the much-anticipated music festival.

Lantis is a Japanese record label founded in 1999 focused on anisongs and anime music. It has published two decades of hit music including anime themes, anime and game soundtracks, and seiyuu (voice actors’) songs. In 2018, Lantis was merged with its parent company Bandai Visual into a new branch of Bandai Namco Holdings, called Bandai Namco Arts. The name of Lantis still remains as a record label from the new company, and keeps creating numerous anisongs and anime music.

Day 1: Friday 21st

For a Friday event, the Lantis Matsuri was jam-packed full of fans who came in hordes to see their favorite artists perform. The day started with revered artist Minori Chiharakicking everything off for elated fans. Throughout the concert, electricity continues to rise as artists such as Hashimoto Miyuki, Aki Misato, STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, ZAQ, Aquors, and more took to the stage to perform their most notable songs.
 

Before the audience even made it to their seats, the room was abuzz with excitement. Lantis gave the audience a real treat by having all of their artists perform a special theme song for this event. From JAM Projectand Aqours, to Luck Lifeand Minori Chihara, everyone was a part of the song!

Minori Chiharawas first to take the stage and she was fantastic. Fans were buzzing with excitement when she revealed not only that it was her 15th anniversary since debuting, but that she was going to be giving us a new single! Minori Chihara will be performing the Violet Evergarden Gaiden Movie ending theme due out September 6th. The audience roared with approval as she handed the stage over to NOW ON AIR. They were great and revealed that Aira Yukiwas their music producer. Following their saccharine jam, Aira brought a somber moment as she played a ballad live on the piano from Violet Evergarden. There wasn’t a dry eye left in the room following her touching performance.

One notable performance definitely came from MiyukiHashimoto, who performed the opening theme for Saki! Titled “Glossy MMM”, which conveyed how powerful her voice is and truly commanded the stage with her passionate display of emotions while singing.
 

Well known and extremely talented artist Aki Misato made her way on stage shortly after Miyuki, and thanked fans for supporting her over the 15 years that she’s been around. As a reward, she sang her debut song “Kimi ga Sora Datta” from the anime mai-HIME, which had fans catapulting out of their seats to celebrate the nostalgic performance that really put her on the map.
 

The excitement didn’t stop there as STEREO DIVE FOUNDATIONperformed the epic opening intro from Dimension W titled ‘GENESIS’ which was bass pumping, and had the audience singing along in almost perfect unison. It was just hit after hit and the hairs on our arms wouldn’t settle down even after the break, because of how captivating these performances were.
 

A really great highlight of the show was watching Yousei Teikokucommand the stage with her overwhelming presence. Not only did she whip the audience into shape, she even made the band continue to play on loop while making the audience chant that they were all her subjects in her fairy kingdom. She even had her own podium from which she commanded, and demanded everyone’s attention. She had fans jumping up and down to the beat and waving their lights so furiously that no one needs to go to the gym now for a week. That’s for sure!
 

ZAQ, FAYLAN, Chihiro Yonekura, and of course ALI PROJECT(with their eccentric stage costumes) were hands down some of the best highlights of the entire show, with ZAQshowcasing her vocal prowess with ‘Sparkling Daydream’. On her on-stage performance was impactful and demonstrated just how to keep the audience fired up, as she attacked every lyric with an intensity that it permeated through your body as she sang it.
 

Day 2: Saturday 22nd

fhánafirst started the show with the opening to Witch Craft Works, “divine intervention”. Their powerful vocals reverberated throughout the hall as the opening to the anime played behind them on the stage. Minamitook to the stage next and sang songs that took us back to the moments when we heard them for the first time. They’re all thanks to Masaaki Iizukawho composed them, too! Minami was followed by a lively performance by Kitauji Quartetwho wore the same outfits as their characters in the anime opening video that played behind them.
 

Tapimiruand the lovely ladies of Aikatsu Stars!brought fresh performances to the stage. AiRIfollowed them with a famous, refreshing song that really got the audience excited. AiRI performed “Dreamer” the opening theme of Tari Tari. Her voice sounded more powerful than the studio version. Must be the energy of the audience feed backing to her.
 

Next up on stage was legend seiyuu and singer Megumi Ogata. Her entrance on stage was received with euphoria. Megumi performed covers of songs from famous anime that she has been in, including Evangelion, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Sailor Moon. Her first song was the anime anthem “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis”, followed by the very popular “Moon Revenge”. it wasn’t just the concert hall that exploded with energy, social media was abuzz with her performance.
 

milktubcame out to emcee and this was met with plenty of cheering that continued on until the day’s events were finished. Next up was the veteran band, nano.RIPE. Following them, performances continued to come from the adorable presentations of Kanae Itoand Ryoko Shintani, to the cool ones by Kensho Onoand Showtaro Morikubo. eufoniustook the stage after those four to sing with a truly clear voice. It was then revealed that many of the songs performed at Lantis Matsuri 2019 were written by Aki Hataherself!
 

The performances that really brought female fans to the climax were Daisuke Ono’s magnificent dance as part of THE IDOLM@STER SideMperformance and Kenichi Suzumura’s pop performance. The lovely ladies ofTHE IDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS, Tasuku Hatanaka, and Takuma Terashimaall followed, eliciting cheers from the male fans of the audience who showed the ladies in the room that they could cheer just as loudly. With their cheering voices and yellow light sticks, the mood in the concert hall reached a fever pitch.
 

What a surprise it was when Daisuke Ono, Kenichi Suzumura, and Showtarou Morikuboall came back to the stage again for an “Orepara” group performance! Nobody was ready for that. Finally, it was time for the climax. Having stood numerous times on the stage in front of countless fans, GRANRODEOclosed out the second day of festivities with a powerful, passionate performance.
