Made her major debut on April 4th, 2004, with the album “hane” as a member of the musical creators group “I’ve”. Her opening theme for the TV anime “Shakugan no Shana”, “being”, ranked 4th on Oricon, and many of her later hits would go on to chart as well. Her solo performance in December 2006 at the Yokohama Arena cemented her place as a star. In 2011, she left the group I’ve in search of new possibilities, working with new creators to produce famous songs like “Light my Fire” (the opening to Shakugan no Shana III -FINAL-) and “→unfinished→”, the ending to Accel World. In 2018 she returned home to NBCUniversal for her 15th anniversary, releasing the album “tears cyclone -return-”, a return to her roots. In 2019, her new album, “tears cyclone -awakening-“, was released as a counterpart to the first. In April 2020, she released a 10 CD box set, “Kotoko’s Game Song Complete Box ‘The Bible’”. Despite its high price of over 15,000 yen, her fans purchased enough copies to send it to #4 on the Oricon charts.

音楽クリエイター集団『I’ve』に所属する歌い手を代表する存在として、2004年4月21日にアルバム『羽-hane-』でメジャー・デビュー。TVアニメ「灼眼のシャナ」の新オープニングテーマ「being」のオリコン4位をはじめ、数多くの作品でオリコン・チャート上位を獲得する。ライブにおいても2006年12月には横浜アリーナでの単独公演を成功させ、その人気と実力を形とする。2011年には新たな可能性を求めI’veを離れ活動をスタート。様々なクリエイターとのコラボレーションによって「Light My Fire」(TVアニメ「灼眼のシャナⅢ-FINAL-」OP) 「→unfinished→」TVアニメ「アクセル・ワールド」ED)などの名曲を発表する。15周年イヤーに向け2018年より古巣のNBCユニバーサルに戻ると、原点”廻”帰をテーマにしたアルバム「tears cyclone –廻－」、さらに2019年に覚醒をテーマにしたアルバム「tears cyclone -醒－」の2作で１枚となるオリジナルアルバムをリリースし話題に。2020年4月には自信が歌ってきたゲームソングをなんと134曲も収録した10枚組の豪華CD－BOX「KOTOKO’s GAME SONG COMPLETE BOX”The Bible”」をリリース。15000円を超える価格にもかかわらず、リリースを待ち望んだ多くのファンが購入しオリコンアルバムチャート初登場4位を獲得する。
