FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S restarted their performance activities as a 2MC group of “Funky Kato” and “Monkichi,” who hail from Hachioji, Japan.

Their predecessor group, “FUNKY MONKEY BABYS,” was formed on January 1, 2004, as a trio of 2MC+1DJ, one of whose members was “DJ Chemical.” 

In January 2006, the group made its major debut with the song “Sono Mamma Higashi e (As It Is To The East).” Starting with its big hit of “Lovin’ Life” that was released in January 2007, the group made a number of other hit songs, such as “Kokuhaku (Confession),” “Hero,” and “Ato Hitotsu (One Person), and became one of the nationwide popular artists. At the height of their popularity, the group broke up in “Tokyo Dome” in June 2013, ending their activities that had lasted for about a decade. 

On March 11, 2021, when about eight years had passed since their breakup, the entire trio got together again just for one night on the TBS television program “ONGAKUNOHI.”

In the same month, Funky Kato and Monkichi announced their activities as “FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S,” along with their solo activities. 

Then, they restarted their activities by changing the group’s name to “FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S.”

On September 22, the release of their new single “YELL” was determined. On October 1, they performed an exclusive live concert, “WE ARE FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S in Nippon Budokan -2021-,” for the first time as “FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S. In February 2022, they hit the road on the national tour, and on June 29, they released a new single, “ROUTE 16.”

前身团体的FUNKY MONKEY BABYS是加上「DJ Chemical」的2MC1DJ3人组团体，于04年元旦成立。

2006年1月，以『照旧往东』一曲出道。

2007年1月发表的『Lovin' Life』造成热烈回响为契机，

之后陆续推出『告白』『Hiro』『再一个』等多首热门歌曲，

虽然加入国民人气歌手的行列，但在2013年6月的人气巅峰时期，于「东京巨蛋」宣布解散，为从成立至今约10年的活动拉下布幕。

从解散后经过约8年的时光，终于在2021年3月11日TBS『音乐之日』，三位成员以1夜限定的方式再次集结。

改名为“FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S”再次活动。

9月22日决定公开发表新单曲「YELL」， 10月1日举办FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY'S首次的独立演唱会「WE ARE FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY'S in 日本武道馆 -2021-」。

2022年は2月举办全国巡回表演，6月29日发表「ROUTE 16」。

東京八王子出身、「ファンキー加藤」「モン吉」の2人で再始動した2MCグループ。

前身のグループであるFUNKY MONKEY BABYSは「DJケミカル」を加えた2MC1DJの3人組グループで、'04年元旦に結成。

06年1月、『そのまんま東へ』でメジャーデビュー。07年1月リリースの『Lovin' Life』の大ヒットを皮切りに『告白』『ヒーロー』『あとひとつ』など、数々のヒット曲を送り出し、国民的大人気アーティストの仲間入りをするも、2013年6月人気絶頂の中、「東京ドーム」にて同グループを解散し、結成から約10年間の活動に幕を閉じた。

解散から約8年の時を経て、2021年3月11日TBS『音楽の日』にて1夜限りの3名フルメンバーでの再結成を果たす。

同月、ソロ活動と並行してファンキー加藤、モン吉の2人での"ファンキーモンキーベイビーズ"の活動を発表。

“FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY’S”と改名して再始動する。

9月22日にはニューシングル「エール」のリリースも決定し、 10月1日にはFUNKY MONKEY BΛBY'Sとして初のワンマンライブ「WE ARE FUNKY MONKEY BΛBY'S in 日本武道館 -2021-」を開催。2022年は2月より全国ツアーを開催し6月29日には「ROUTE 16」をリリースした。
